I founded Gemini HR Solutions because I am passionate about facilitating growth in entrepreneurship for women. Having worked in HR for over fourteen years, I have a clear sense of what good human capital management looks like. My goal is to use my HR expertise to help women entrepreneurs to grow their businesses by leveraging the talent and potential that they and their people possess.
My interest in helping companies and small businesses to maximise the inherent value that their people bring to their roles as well as my natural affinity towards building trusted working relationships with others, has led me down the consultancy route. I am a firm believer that success in business, as in most things, can be achieved through the quality, talent, engagement and skills of a business’ most important asset: its people.
If you are looking to make that step change that you need to in order to scale your business, I can help to free up your time and resources by providing a range of services which will allow you to really concentrate on your core business and on doing what you do best, by leaving the HR to me. And as you go through this journey, and succeed in maximising your business’ growth potential, I would hope to continue to support you as your people management needs develop and change over the course of time.
“An entrepreneur is someone who jumps off a cliff and builds a plane on the way down.”
Why is this important to me?
I was dismayed to learn that although over half of new businesses in the UK are started by women, only a small percentage are scaling their businesses to reach the £1m turnover mark and beyond. This is such a missed opportunity especially when you consider that female entrepreneurs generate a better return on investment than their male counterparts. Even harder to digest, when you take into account the growing body of evidence which shows that companies that are owned, co-owned or who have women in positions of leadership tend to be more successful than companies that are predominantly led by men. The fact is, there are countless women entrepreneurs who are highly growth-oriented, extremely ambitious, skilled and determined but who are just not achieving the levels of success that they are capable of.
As a female entrepreneur myself, I understand that there are challenges that we face. Yet those who are the most successful, do not let the challenges stop them from reaching for bigger and better goals. The many success stories of the women entrepreneurs who have ‘made it to the top’ only serve to reinforce my belief that “whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right.” (Henry Ford)
“Women-owned businesses are set to increase by 90 percent in the next five years. We need to change the status quo because lifting women creates economic opportunity and vitality, locally and globally.”
